Unable to complete payment for a creditmemo

Description

It is not possible to complete a payment for a credit memo.
The following error appears:

... Payment Document Type and Invoice type (AP/AR) inconsistent.

As a workaround it is possible to create a payment without any assotiation to a document and allocate the payment later via payment allocation window.

Steps

  1. Create AR Credit Memo

     

  2. Create AR Receipt and select AR Credit Memo for allocate

     

  3. Complete Payment, Allocations is made without error
