idempiere already have reference named “AD_Org Parent” that not used. could we use the reference to set on column Parent_Org_ID but it make the parent organization must be set as IsSummary=Y.

Hi - no, that’s for a different purpose, IsSummary is used for maintenance of Org tree for financial reporting.

Yes , you’re right, as this is used just in MWFActivity, there is no “tree” involved there, just to check the parent supervisor. A dynamic validation, or a beforeSave validation will help.

i checked column Parent_Org_ID only used on workflow to find the supervisor of the Org. if Parent Org is same as the Org, there is no harmful with the code. should we add dynamic validation for this issue?

Reproduced by me on the community testing day 2022.

Still present on iDempiere 10.

Wouldn’t it be easier to filter the list of Organizations shown to the user to exclude the parent record?
