The idea is to add more features into this magic text box. I call it 'iSearch'.
1. Export service for text box, make it possible to accept feature plugins. The basic feature would be menu search. 2. The feature able to search main documents (like SO, PO, Invoice etc) by key, document number, id etc. 3. The feature able to search all data in iDempiere, like goolge for iDempiere. 4. The feature able to filter out the search result by prefix code (eg. SO@123456, only search SO by id 123456) 5. The feature able to support regex search 6. The feature able to support voices search (like Siri for iDempiere) 7. The feature able to do everything which provided by installing different feature iSearch plugin. The backend search service provider could be in iDempiere or from internet.

big plus from me. I think it should be a big step to improve the user-friendly and usability for our killer erp in the world!

I've seen some implementations of a similar approach using lucene.
And we discussed a possible just postgresql implementation using full text search.
