Please create an OSGi interface to be able to plugin custom depreciation methods. Example depreciation methods that would need to be plugged in:
Declining balance
½ year convention
Here is an example custom depreciation method implementation request:
We would create a new Depreciation Method Called "Straight Line Simplified"
We set the activation date to 01.01 or 01.07 depending on the half year of the "In Service Date
Depreciation is created as normal from then onwards (the extra depreciation of the already closed periods is posted in the current one
Note that the following was expressed as a concern. I do not know how much this concept relates to this ticket: "From experience of our implementation the asset group masterdata does not support fraction years. If you set depreciation time to something not being a multiple of 12 it leads to an error. This needs to be changed as well."
